A Postdoctoral Research Associate is sought to assist Dr Jorge Quintanilla as part of the collaboration “Unconventional Superconductors: New Paradigms for New Materials” on a fixed term until 31 October 2019.
You will pursue research on broken time-reversal symmetry and topological order in superconductors with strong spin-orbit coupling, competing orders, multi-band pairing and/or lack of inversion symmetry.
This is one of two related posts available within the “Unconventional Superconductors: New Paradigms for New Materials” collaboration. Candidates whose background could be suitable for either post are encouraged to apply to both Kent and Bristol.

The School of Physical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Science. It is a dynamic School achieving national and international excellence in both teaching and research in Forensic Science, Chemistry and Physics.
The School offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research programmes with some programmes offering opportunities to study abroad and in industry.
Student numbers in SPS have risen significantly in the past three years. The launch of the Chemistry has been very successful, Forensics remaining strong and SPS increasing its market share on the Physics programme. The consistent annual growth demonstrates the School’s success. In 2016 there is over one thousand undergraduate students.
