The Columbia University Nano Initiative (CNI) is seeking outstanding candidates for CNI Postdoctoral Research Scientists. The CNI Postdoctoral Research Scientists work directly within the CNI program, collaborating across research groups to help drive and support the basic goals and directions of the CNI. The Center is dedicated to the vision of developing science and technology that can drive new generations of nanoscale materials (see http://nano.columbia.edu/).

Candidates should hold a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related science. Candidates must demonstrate a very strong scientific or engineering background as evidenced by research publications in peer-reviewed journals and other awards and activities. In addition candidates should demonstrate a record of successful collaborative research, preferably across disciplinary lines. Candidates should be effective independent researchers, capable of developing a research program built around CNI program themes and in collaboration with CNI Principal Investigators. Candidates should have strong leadership qualities and possess excellent communication skills.

Preference will be given to applications received before November 1, 2015. The start date of the appointment will be between July and September of 2016.
