Dear colleagues,
We are happy to announce the 2nd Summer School on Ultraviolet and X-ray Spectroscopies of Correlated-Electron Systems, “SUCCESS-2017”:
https://success-2017.sciencesconf.org
The school will take place from September 4-15, 2017, at the prestigious and beautifully located Centre de Physique des Houches, near Chamonix, at the heart of the French Alps.
This school will introduce the experimental and theoretical/computational concepts in the study of correlated electron systems and exotic states of matter using ultra-violet and X-ray spectroscopies, from their basic unifying principles to their applications and recent developments. Techniques to be addressed include: angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), spin-resolved, time-resolved and two-photon ARPES, soft-X-ray and hard-X-ray photoemission (SX-ARPES/HAXPES), resonant elastic and inelastic X-ray scattering (REXS/RIXS), new detectors and light sources. In addition, the school will propose an introduction and overview of systems of current interest, such as oxide heterostructures, heavy fermions, and topological insulators.
The school is addressed to graduate students (Master and PhD) and young researchers (Postdocs and junior academics) working in the field, both on experiments and theories. There will be ample time for questions, discussions, and leisure, aiming at creating strong interactions between the participants and the lecturers. The participants will also be given the opportunity to present their work or project in several oral and poster sessions.
The audience is limited to 70 participants, attendees and lecturers included. Register soon to reserve your place!
We look forward to welcoming you to Les Houches.
