The Department of Physics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) invites applications for the position of a
Full Professor (W3) of Theoretical Solid State Physics (succession of Prof. Dr. Gerd Schön)
at the Institute for Theoretical Solid State Physics.
We are looking for an outstanding scientist working in the area of theoretical solid-state theory or the theory of condensed matter systems. Topics of research might be many-body physics, quantum transport, quantum-state engineering, or light-matter interactions.
Teaching duties include lecturing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and the supervision of bachelor and master students. Applicants must have obtained the degree of Habilitation or demonstrate equivalent scientific qualifications as well as experience in teaching. The appointed professor is expected to teach in German after a reasonable amount of time.
