The University of Salamanca offers 20 research associate positions tenable for 30 months under the Marie Curie Cofund call USAL4EXCELLENCE. In the Group of Nanotechnology at the University of Salamanca we are looking for motivated early-stage-career researchers willing to work on nanotechnology and 2D Materials in a multidisciplinary team. The call closes on December the 16th.
About us: Nanotech is a multidisciplinary group with researchers from different departments at the University of Salamanca. Our current work has a major emphasis on developing novel low-dimensional systems for fundamental physics. We employ several experimental methodologies (i.e. low-temperature magnetotransport, photocurrent spectroscopy, THz emission and detection) with a common stem in clean-room-based work and two-dimensional materials. We are looking for a scientist with a good background in 2D materials, semiconductor physics and optics that can integrate and strengthen the level of our group. Candidates with interest in twisted layers of 2D materials are particularly welcomed.
Position and salary conditions: The position is tenable for 30 months with a mandatory secondment in a non-academic organization and the possibility to perform research expeditions as well. Each fellowship includes funds for travel, reasonable research expenses as well as competitive salary. The total cost for the fellowship is 4.855 €/month. The net salary results from deducting all compulsory (employer/employee) Social Security contributions as well as direct taxes (e.g., income tax) from the gross amount.
Eligibility: Applications are invited from highly qualified young scientists with proven track record. Candidates must have a PhD degree in physics, semiconductors physics, material science and related fields. Candidates should have a strong background working with 2D-like materials. Candidates should be proficient in spoken and written English, comply with the European mobility rule and must have a hands-on personality, with experience in design and assembly of experimental setups.
Deadline: The deadline for applications is December 16th. We encourage the candidates to perform an early interview where they will present their projects. Should you be interested please do contact us!
