The School on Modern Topics in Quantum Information Processing is jointly organised by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP). It will be held from 18 to 29 January 2016 at the Nanyang Executive Centre, NTU.

Many world-renowned scientists will be at the School, including Prof Gerard ‘t Hooft (Nobel Prize in Physics 1999)Prof Sir Anthony J. Leggett (Nobel Prize in Physics 2003)Prof Serge Haroche (Nobel Prize in Physics 2012) and many more.

Objectives

The School aims to introduce modern concepts and methods Quantum Information Processing, which provides broad, solid foundations in modern topics of quantum information science. Subjects covered during the two weeks of the School include:

  • Entanglement, tensor networks, matrix product states
  • Topological quantum computation
  • Coding and error correction
  • Quantum algorithms
  • Physical implementations of quantum computation and information processing
  • Majorana physics

Registration (by 10th October, 2015)

The school is intended predominantly for young scientists (students and researchers). There are no fees involved to attend the school. Limited travel support funds are available for participants from Asia. For registration, please visit: http://indico.ictp.it/event/7574/
