DTU Fotonik, the Department of Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, is seeking a candidate for a three year PhD position in the field of electronic bandstructure of two-dimensional materials using the k.p method. The position is part of a research project funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research on the theoretical exploration of symmetry effects as well as strain, electric field, magnetic field, spin effects, and material inhomogeneity of two-dimensional materials. DTU Fotonik is one of the largest centers in the world focusing solely on research in photonics, covering the fields of lasers, LEDs, optical sensors, optical fibers, optical communications, nanophotonics and quantum photonics.
