A research scientist position is available in the area of scanning probe x-ray microscopy. The position is within the Experimental Systems Group at the Advanced Light Source synchrotron radiation facility at LBNL, a global leader in x-ray science. Work includes design and development of state-of-the-art scanning transmission x-ray microscopes for use with highly-coherent and powerful x-rays, development of new in situ experimental methods and coherent diffractive imaging schemes, as well as providing support to an active user community which applies the instruments to forefront problems in materials science, geoscience and condensed matter physics.
