Postdoc position in PLD growth and investigation of magnetic and superconducting properties of thin films and heterostructures of complex oxides
The solid state physics group (http://physics.unifr.ch/de/page/52/) in the Department of
Physics and the Fribourg Center for Nanomaterials (Frimat) offers a post-doctoral position for experimental research on the magnetic and superconducting properties of oxide and/or organic thin films and heterostructures.
Our group operates a state-of-the-art thin film growth cluster with chambers for pulsed laser deposition (PLD) of complex oxides (with in situ RHEED) and for the thermal evaporation of organic materials and elemental metals to fabricate metal/oxide-organic spin-valves. Besides standard x-ray diffraction (RIGAKU Smartlab), magnetization, and magneto-transport measurements (with a PPMS), we specialize in techniques like polarized neutron reflectometry, resonant x-ray absorption (XLD, XMCD, REXS, RIXS), and infrared spectroscopy (in particular, ellipsometry).
We are looking for a scientist with a strong interest and/or expertise in the growth of oxide thin films and the investigation of their electronic, magnetic and superconducting properties.
The position will be initially for one year but can be extended up to three years. We offer
excellent working conditions in a collaborative team of young researchers and a competitive salary.
Applications including a CV and names of two referees should be sent to:
