Postdoc position in the group “Numerical Analysis of Synthetic Quantum Matter” at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Cologne <http://www.thp.uni-koeln.de/> and the Peter Grünberg Institute  <https://www.fz-juelich.de/pgi/pgi-8/EN/Home/home_node.html>for Quantum Control (PGI-8) of the Forschungszentrum Jülich <https://www.fz-juelich.de/pgi/pgi-8/EN/Home/home_node.html> (directed by T. Calarco).

Recent interests include:
– two-dimensional quantum many-body systems, with particular respect to frustration effects and entanglement properties;
– quantum simulation schemes, in- and out-of-equilibrium, not only for analog platforms but also for circuit-based ones;
– development of tensor networks techniques at all levels, including automated exploration of phase diagrams;
– development of quantum optimal control schemes for many-body systems, in close collaboration with the PGI-8 colleagues.

Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
