About the position

The position is for 2+1 years from January 1st 2017, and is aimed at theoretical studies of magnetic and superconducting systems including cuprates, iron-based superconductors, and topological superconductors. It is expected that significant efforts will be centered on general aspects of correlations, and spin and charge fluctuations on e.g. the pairing properties of cuprates and iron-based superconductors. Another important branch of exploration will be centered on new proposals for generation of topological superconductivity and manipulation of Majorana fermions. The latter includes, for example, new engineered topological phases based on either intrinsic favorable electronic ordering phenomena in solids, or cleverly tailored artificial structures.

postdoc505

The project will be funded by a post doc fellowship grant through the Danish free research council. The position will be part of a growing research environment including collaboration with researchers within the broader condensed matter theory group at the Niels Bohr Institute. Significant collaboration with other people including K. Flensberg, M. Rudner, J. Paaske, I. Eremin, R. M. Fernandes, P. J. Hirschfeld, and world-leading experimental STM, neutron and X-ray scattering groups is expected to take place. For further information on the group please see http://cmt.nbi.ku.dk.

About the applicant

The applicant should have a PhD degree in physics, preferable with a strong condensed matter background and should ideally have experience with the theory of superconducting and/or magnetic systems.

The postdoc’s duties will include research within Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics as well as teaching. The post may also include performance of other duties.
