The Theoretical Condensed Matter Group is a vibrant group within the School of Mathematics and Physics, supporting research in the quantum many-body theory of complex materials ranging from superconducting organic charge transfer salts to fluorescent proteins. The position reports to Professor Ross McKenzie. His research interests can be viewed on his UQ Researchers page at:http://researchers.uq.edu.au/researcher/915.

The appointee will conduct research related to an Australian Research Council Discovery Project, «The bad metallic state in quantum materials,» led by Professor Ross McKenzie.

Applicants should possess a PhD in Physics or related discipline. A knowledge of quantum many-body theory is essential. Familiarity with research in strongly correlated electron materials is desirable.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A for 2 years and 9 months. Applications close on 31 January, 2016.
