The Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbaraseeks applications for a Permanent Member with a start date of July 1, 2015. The Institute is supported principally by the National Science Foundation and has the responsibility of contributing to progress in all areas of theoretical physics. A successful applicant will be offered a joint appointment as a member of the Institute and as a ladder faculty member of the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Physics Department. Duties of the Permanent Member will be to carry out research and to provide scientific leadership for the Institute. S/he will have minimal teaching duties with the Physics Department while a working member of the Institute. A Ph.D. in physics is required.
