We present the Workshop on Topological Materials and Electron Correlations, to be held April 2 – April 3, 2020, on the campus of Rice University, Houston, Texas.  The workshop is sponsored by the Rice Center for Quantum Materials. Further information about the workshop, including the list of topics and speakers, can be found at the website: https://rcqm.rice.edu/events/99/ .

There have been extensive recent advances on topological materials, both in weakly correlated settings and in strongly interacting systems. Among these are discovery and exploration of new topological states of matter and their transitions to nearby quantum phases. The breadth of the field calls for interactions among the different sub-communities. This workshop aims to bring together top experts from these communities to highlight the recent achievements in each area, and to provide a forum for cross-talk among the subjects.

In addition to invited talks, the program will feature short talks selected from contributed abstracts, and have poster sessions to display the work of all the attendees. We are expecting a stimulating workshop with a total of about 80 participants.

We hope you will be interested in participating. Attached please find a circular of the workshop, which you can post in your institution. Please bring the workshop to the attention of anyone else who might be interested. Particularly, we hope you will encourage junior members of your group to apply and submit poster abstracts. The workshop website has a link to the registration and abstract submission system. The deadline for contributed abstract submission is January 31, 2019.
