The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University has several faculty openings this year, including:

Faculty Positions

Assistant Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Science at Purdue University seeks applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of experimental condensed matter physics. We seek a tenure-track assistant professor to complement existing strengths in the condensed matter group.

Faculty Position in Theoretical High Energy/Particle Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Science at Purdue University seeks applications for a faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of theoretical high-energy/particle physics.

Assistant Professor in Experimental Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue University seeks applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field, an outstanding record of research accomplishments, and evidence of potential excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Spintronics and Nanomagnetics

The College of Engineering at Purdue University have identified spintronics and nanomagnetics as one of the strategic growth areas that emphasize team based research with a focus on the potential for impact.

Post-Doctoral Positions

Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions, LHC-CMS Experiment

The Purdue High Energy Nuclear Physics group studies relativistic heavy-ion collisions as members of the RHIC-STAR and LHC-CMS experiments. Our primary physics interests are in the areas of particle correlations and heavy flavor production to elucidate the properties of high-density QCD and the QGP. A post-doctoral research associate position is available within the group for CMS.

Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Condensed Matter/Nano Physics and Quantum Devices

Application are invited for a postdoctoral position in Experimental condensed matter/nano physics and quantum devices at Purdue University in the group of Professor Yong P. Chen, the Quantum Matter and Devices (QMO) Laboratory affiliated with Purdue Physics, ECE and Birck Nanotechnology Center.
