The Theory of Quantum Materials and Solid State Quantum Technologies group (Spanish Research Council, CSIC, at ICMM in Madrid) invites applications for a PhD position in condensed matter theory. Applicants should have earned a degree in physics or similar and must be in position of being enrolled in a PhD program at the moment of signing the contract. The successful candidate will work in a very active research environment, with many ongoing international collaborations, in cutting edge areas of condensed matter physics such as topological phases of matter, quantum computation and strongly correlated electron systems. More information regarding the group can be found at http://www.icmm.csic.es/tqe/
Within the group, the successful candidate will join the research line led by Ramón Aguado on Topological Superconductivity and Majorana states in condensed matter
The position is awarded for four years within the Spanish grant FIS2015-64654-P “Topology, correlations and quantum aspects in emergent materials”. Further details for application can be found here.
Period for applications: 13-27 September 2016
For more details about the proposed project and the application process, please contact Ramon Aguado at raguado@icmm.csic.es
