PhD student contract offered in the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (Spanish National Research Council-University of Seville). The position is linked to the project “ADVANCED OPTICAL MATERIALS FOR MORE EFFICIENT OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICES” (MAT2017-88584-R), funded in the frame of the Materials State Research Program. The related research will be carried out within the Multifunctional Optical Materials Group (http://mom.icmse.csic.es/). Candidates should have a master degree in a field related to Physics, Chemistry or Materials Engineering. They must also present a solid academic record, as well as high level of English and a clear vocation to become a scientist.

RESEARCH TOPIC: Semiconductors with perovskite crystalline structure and hybrid organic- inorganic composition are nowadays one the more active fields of research in both materials science and optoelectronics technology. The PhD student will be offered a multidisciplinary training, comprising preparation of materials by solution processing, advanced optical and electrical characterization and, eventually, assembly in photovoltaic and light emitting devices. The training will include short (1-3 month) secondments in other world class foreign laboratories with which the host group keeps fluid collaborations.
