PhD grants are proposed in Grenoble, France, in the field of quantum engineering. All informations about this program are available on the following web-site: Part of funding for those PhD grants is supported by the European Marie-Curie program.

In this context, LANEF PhD Program is looking for a candidate to be supported at the next call in spring 2018. We will carry out a first selection in order to support a single candidate. This candidate will then apply officially and a committee will judge from his/her marks at Bachelor/Master courses, letters of recommendation, and quality of Master thesis. In a third step, an interview will be carried out in Grenoble by this committee. The candidate will be judged from his/her presentation of Master project, from a short presentation of the proposed PhD project, and from answering questions of the committee.

The key-words for the attached PhD project are the following: multiterminal Josephson junctions, Floquet-Wannier-Stark ladders, semi-classical theory, optimization of a Floquet qu-bit, backaction, topology, quantum thermodynamics. The internship and project involve collaborations with other theoretical physicists, with experimental groups and with mathematicians:

* Benoit Doucot (Laboratoire de Physique et des Hautes Energies, Paris, France)
* Yuli Nazarov (Delt University of Technonology, The Netherland)
* Moty Heiblum (The Weizmann Institute for Science, Israel)
* Romain Danneau (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany)
* Caglar Girit (College de France, Paris, France)
* Alain Joye (Institut Fourier, Grenoble, France)
* Frederic Faure (Institut Fourier, Grenoble, France)

Interested candidates should have a look at my web-site where the internship and PhD thesis project are summarized. A short version of the PhD project is also attached to this e-mail. The possible Master2 interships are about interpretation of an on-going experiment in the group of Moty Heiblum (Weizmann Institute). A detailed version of the PhD project is available on request.

Candidates should send CVs, and marks at Bachelor and Master examinations to the following email address: In addition, the candidates should arrange to have two letters of recommendation sent to this email address.
