The Mesoscopic Physics Group at CFM is offering a postdoctoral position (1+1 years) starting as soon as possible to work with Dr. Sebastian Bergeret and Dr. Vitaly Golovach, in the field of emerging quantum technologies, and specifically on the physical implementation of superconducting and spin systems for quantum information.
The positions will be funded by the IKUR strategy. IKUR is the Basque strategy promoted by the Education Department of the Basque Government to boost the Scientific Research in specific strategical areas and to position the Basque Country at the forefront of international research in those fields.
The selected candidate will be hired by the Research Association MPC – Materials Physics Center. The salary will be of 34.780,80€ during the first year before taxes.
We are looking for a talented young theoretical physicist interested to work in the field of emerging quantum technologies, and specifically on the physical implementation of superconducting and spin systems for quantum information.
The research will go hand in hand with experimental activity at the Material Physics Center aimed at exploring new materials in the design of superconducting and spin qubits.
The applicants should have a PhD in Theoretical Physics (or equivalent). Research experience in one or more of the following topics is highly desirable: theory of quantum transport, mesoscopic superconductivity, physical implementation of qubits. Experience in collaborating with experimental groups will also be positively evaluated.
The Mesoscopic Physics Group at the Center of Materials Physics addresses theoretical aspects of quantum transport, superconductivity, magnetism, and novel materials for quantum technologies. For more information, visit our web: http://cfm.ehu.es/mesoscopics
