The SPICE-Workshop on «Quantum Spintronics: Spin Transport Through Quantum Magnetic Materials» will be held from September 21st – 23rd, 2016 at the University of Mainz, Germany.
The workshop brings together the communities of magnon spintronics and quantum magnetism, to explore new directions that build upon the combined strengths of the fields. Topics include the spin Seebeck and spin Hall effects, magnonic spin transport and pumping in magnetic heterostructures, magnon Bose-Einstein condensation and spin superfluidity, and heat transport through magnetic insulators. The workshop is expected to further stimulate the exploration of these phenomena in different magnetic materials, from ferromagnets and antiferromagnets to spin liquids and other complex spin systems.
Applications to participate in the workshop must be made online before June 13th, 2016 (http://www.spice.uni-mainz.de/qspin-workshop-2016/). The applicants will be informed about their acceptance by June 27th, 2016. Participation fee for non-speakers is 300 euros.
Any other questions regarding the workshop can be directed to spice@uni-mainz.de.
