The Institute of Basic Science (http://www.ibs.re.kr/en/) is a new ambitious program by the South Korean Government to foster the basic science in Korea. CCES (Director Prof. Tae Won Noh) is one of the first nine selected centers and located at the Seoul National University campus. Prof. Je-Geun Park leads a second group of CCES. We want to pursue groundbreaking and fundamental researches in strongly correlated electron physics by taking advantage of state-of-the-art instruments and theoretical supports.
Candidate Profile and Responsibilities. The successful candidate should have a track record of high quality research with more than 2 years of post-doc experience in at least one of the following research areas: neutron scattering, X-ray scattering, bulk characterization, material synthesis, and strongly correlated electron physics. This is initially for a three-year fixed term contract, which can be renewed after review. Once hired, the successful candidate is expected to lead a vibrant research program under the guidance of Prof. Je-Geun Park.
The starting date is on 1 October 2016 although we can be flexible depending on the conditions of the successful candidate. We anticipate hiring at an assistant professor level with a very competitive salary and perks. The successful candidate will lead a research team of 3- 5 people including students.
